USTA Parent Education Webinars
Those of you who follow us on Twitter and Facebook may have seen my recent posts regarding USTA webinars. In case you’ve missed it, though, I wanted to be sure to share the latest recordings and registration information with all of you.
I have been saying almost since the inception of ParentingAces that I hope USTA puts me out of business some day by offering the same level of parent education we’ve provided. Someone there is paying attention because the webinars they started offering when COVID hit the US are chock-full of very helpful information for parents of junior players at all levels.
If you haven’t signed up for these webinars yet – either the ones offered through the Net Gen program or Player Development – I highly encourage you to do so. Even if you can’t make the live session, USTA records each one and emails out the link within a day or so to watch at your leisure.
This week, I’ve attended two live sessions. The first was entitled Nurturing Great Sportsmanship & Competitiveness and addresses many of the questions y’all have been asking about how to handle cheating and what USTA is doing to combat it. The recording of that session is online here.
The second one is the first in a 3-part series – Winning the Game: A Holistic Approach to Tennis Player Development – that will be presented over the summer. Yesterday’s installment was all about preparing for tournaments from a nutrition and fitness perspective and included a Q&A with Bob Bryan as well as presentations by Tara Collingsworth and Mark Kovacs. The recording of that session is online here.
