USTA All-American College Combine

Combine

In 2017, the USTA decided to create an event to help American college-bound junior players get seen by college coaches, and the USTA All-American College Combine was born. With 120 players in attendance, the event was viewed as a success and will be back this year, June 18-21, at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Florida.

Here are the details for 2018:

When: June 18-21, 2018
Where: USTA National Campus, Lake Nona, FL
Who: USTA members with a high school graduation year of 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022
Cost: Early Bird (April 3-30) – $299 per participant; May 1-June 4 – $349 per participant. After June 4, players may be accepted if there is space available.
How: Register online at the UTR tournament website here

The event will be played on hardcourts though clay and indoor courts may be used if it rains. All matches – singles and doubles (which will be played June 20-21 time and weather permitting) – will count toward the player’s UTR.

Players will be broken into 4-player “pods” based on their UTR and will play the other 3 players within their pod. They will play the best of three sets to six with a 10-point breaker for third sets (win by two), no-ad scoring, no service lets. The winner of each pod will advance to the Tournament Shootout where they will play 4-game, no-ad, no-let sets. The male and female winner of the Shootout will receive a Wildcard into a USTA Pro Circuit event.

In addition to playing matches, the participants will go through Fitness Testing run by Mark Kovacs, participate in recruiting information sessions, and attend Win4Life sessions. Players, parents and coaches are invited to a Welcome Reception and Parents Information Session the first evening at the USTA Welcome Center. Food and beverages will be available. All parents are invited to attend, which will help provide education and answers into the process of finding a college that’s right for their son or daughter.
