TeamUSA at BNP Paribas Master’U: Finals Day

BNP Finals

After a solid semifinal victory over Ireland yesterday, TeamUSA takes on 2017 Champs Great Britain in today’s Final. As Bobby Knight of College Tennis Today tweeted: Team USA goes 4-0 in singles vs. Ireland to advance to the finals. Reinberg won 2 & 4, Crawford won 1 & 4, Lahey won 5-7, 6-2, 6-3, and Mateas sealed it with a 4-6, 6-2, 6-4 win.

Here is Coach Greg Patton’s take on the day:

This is a day that dreams are made of! Our Collegiate Team USA reached the championship round of the Master’s U International Team Championships in Grenoble, France. Team USA defeated Ireland in the semifinals to meet our friendly rivals and nemesis Great Britain on Sunday. Our American collegians were absolutely spectacular in having the USA reach the finals for the tenth straight year. We are looking to capture our 8th World Championship in the past 10 years. Our players of Maria Mateas (Duke), Ashley Lahey (Pepperdine), Jada Hart (UCLA), Brandon Holt (USC), Oliver Crawford (Florida) and Emil Reinberg (University of Georgia), with coaches Amanda Augustus (Cal) and Garrett Patton (Cal Poly SLO) are making American Tennis proud with their tenacity, discipline, enthusiasm and sparkling play. Go USA!
