Holiday Gift Guide 2022

It’s been a couple of years since I put out a holiday gift guide for the junior tennis players in your life, so I wanted to do a reboot this year. Thank you to those of you who sent in your suggestions and thank you to those manufacturers offering a discount to the ParentingAces Community!

Simply click the name or image of the product or service to open a new window where you can purchase directly. To see our previous gift guides, click here, here, here, and here.

Ekrin massage gun – Keeping muscles loose between matches and making sure they are fully recovered at the end of a practice or tournament day is a step in the right direction in terms of injury prevention. The Ekrin Massage Gun is a portable, effective tool to have on-hand. It comes with several attachments to ensure all muscle groups can be treated safely. Use code ParentingAces20 for 20% discount!

Compete Learn Honor Playbook – Sports psychologist, Peter Scales, has just published this useful manual and workbook for players of all ages and levels to help them work on the very important mental side of their game. To learn more, listen to our recent podcast with Peter here.

Collegiate Exposure Camp – If your player has dreams of playing college tennis, Collegiate Exposure Camps are a great way to learn from and be seen by a variety of college coaches. We’re a little biased since they are one of our partners, but a session at one of these camps, set on college campuses, makes a great gift!

Portable Ball Hopper – When you’re on the road at a tournament, having a simple way to take your tennis balls with you is a bonus. This portable hopper comes highly recommended and stores easily in the trunk of your car.

Case of Tennis Balls – Tennis balls have been hard to come by since the onset of COVID-19. Why not treat your junior to their own case so they always have a new can for practice matches?

Apeak Subscription – Working on the mental side of their game can make a huge difference in the development of any junior player. The Apeak app puts those lessons in the palm of their hand with exercises and accountability right in their smart phone.

SwingTennis Subscription – Video analysis is becoming more and more necessary in junior tennis as players understand small tweaks can lead to huge gains. SwingTennis is my favorite app for recording and analyzing practices and matches, and junior coaches are loving the match compression features included in the app.

ParentingAces Merch – Of course, we’d love for you to add items from our Merch Shop to your child’s holiday gifts! Our premium members always receive free shipping!

Training with an elite coach – We interview lots of junior coaches on our podcast. Giving your junior a training session or a training week or two with one of these coaches could be the difference-maker in their development. Have a look through our podcast archives and choose a coach whose philosophy resonates with you.

And don’t forget about gifts for your child’s coach(es)! Most of the items above would make a great present for them, too. You can also think about purchasing a gift card to their favorite coffee or juice shop, the dining facility at their club, or the local tennis shop. If you know of their off-court hobbies, maybe you can find an accessory or event they would enjoy.

This time of year can be stressful with holiday planning and travel. We hope this piece takes away a little of that pressure. Happy holidays!
