Roaming Around Barcelona

We woke up to grey rainy weather, but I finally convinced Matthew to go exploring despite the yucky weather!

We headed out on foot toward the Old City and wandered around, eventually making our way to Port Vell, Barceloneta Beach, and the Olympic Village. We saw the Santa Maria de Mer Cathedral with a wedding going on inside – so fun! We wound up buying a cheap duffle bag to hold all our gifts on the way back to Atlanta – got a great deal from a small shop in the Old City. We walked back to the hotel for a rest and to figure out dinner plans. We wound up walking to Cera 23, a great Galician restaurant in a sketchy area of town. Our waiter, Carlos, was darling, and wound up selling us (at our request) a bottle of their house-made cana tostada to take home.
