Our Panelists
Kendra Becker

Kendra enjoys teaching players of all ages but has a particular passion for 12u tennis using red, orange and green balls.

Kendra started coaching young players when she was 14 and has coached high school teams, traveled to Europe with players and helped start a pilot program with the USTA which ultimately became the Red Orange Green ball programs with racquets, courts and balls specifically designed for younger children.

Kendra is certified by the PTR in both Adult and 10 and under tennis and also by the USPTA. Her interest in fitness and conditioning led her to become Etcheberry certified in 2011. She is currently working on her Master of Tennis Junior Development- a level 5 course, through the PTR.

Kendra serves as a volunteer for the USTA on the New England Coaches Commission as well as on the USPTA Nominating Committee. She is also the 2017 recipient of the USPTA New England Al Rogers Education award for continuing education. She was also invited to be an Ambassador for the USTA’s Net Generation program and she will be conducting on court workshops for the USTA in 2018 for Net Generation Coaches.

Nick Saviano

Nick Saviano brings a unique approach to the game of tennis, stressing the value of hard work, character and personal integrity.

With 41 years of world-class experience, nine years on the ATP circuit prior to his 32 years as a coach, Nick Saviano has helped train over 50 tennis players who have gone on to careers in the WTA and ATP, including Grand Slam winners and world #1’s.

His philosophy of defining success in terms of personal growth, his patience, ethical foundation and depth of knowledge about every aspect of tennis development have produced champions at all levels, including juniors, collegiate players and professionals.

Acknowledged as one of the world’s best coaches by his peers, he has received numerous awards, from the United States Olympic Committee, USTA and many others.

David Fish

Dave Fish has mentored 15 All-Americans throughout his tenure at Harvard, including 1999 ITA All-America champions James Blake ’01 (singles and doubles) and Kunj Majmudar ’99 (doubles). His most recent All-American came in 2014, when Denis Nguyen ’15 advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA singles championships.

A 1972 graduate of Harvard College, Fish was a dual-sport student-athlete with the squash and tennis teams, and he served as a captain for both squads as a senior. Fish was a two-time first team All-America and All-Ivy selection during his tenure on the squash team, and he helped lead the men’s squash team to three national titles, and the men’s tennis team to an Ivy League championship in 1970.

After wrapping up his 42nd season as the Scott Mead ‘77 Head Coach for Harvard Men’s Tennis, Dave retired from collegiate coaching, leaving behind a legendary career where he amassed an impressive 702-319-1 overall record and is the winningest men’s tennis coach in Harvard history. He will be inducted into the ITA Men’s Collegiate Tennis Hall of Fame during the 2019 NCAA Championships.

Dave continues his career in tennis as the UTR Head of Development. Dave has been evangelizing the UTR system for years and has been instrumental in facilitating its adoption in the tennis world, especially within elite junior and collegiate tennis.
