Coaching Conference in ATL: Parents Welcome!

atlanta1

This weekend (September 11-13), Oscar Wegner is bringing his Modern Tennis Methodology approach to Atlanta in the form of a 3-day conference. Each of the three days will include speakers, on-court coaching for both junior and adult players, and the opportunity to become certified in the MTM method. Conference presenters are both local and international. For a complete list of speakers, click here.

Friday’s sessions will be held at the Fieldstone Tennis Center in Cumming, a suburb north of the city, starting at 9:30am with simultaneous coaches and players clinics. Saturday’s sessions will be held at the South Fulton Tennis Center in College Park and include clay-court work, a high school coach’s seminar, and a roundtable discussion on the future of junior tennis development. Sunday’s sessions will be held at Richard Craig Park in McDonough and include nutrition for players, being a tennis parent (presented by Yours Truly!), and more on-court clinics for both kids and coaches. To see the entire schedule, click here.

The cost to attend the conference ranges from FREE for those coaches already certified with MTM to $75 for those wishing to attend all 3 days plus becoming certified. General admission is $15/day or $35 for all 3 days. You can register online here.

If you’re on the fence about attending, take a few minutes to listen to this week’s podcast with Oscar and two of his certified coaches who will be presenting at the conference this weekend. I think the event will be well worth your and your junior player’s time. There aren’t many coaching conferences that welcome parents! If you have any questions or would like more information, please ask via the Comments below. I hope to see you there!
