2024 ITA Summer Series

One of my favorite summer competition opportunities is back for 2024: the ITA Summer Series. These tournaments are a great way for junior players to gauge their level against current and recently-graduated college players as a next step in their Tennis Journey.

The ITA Summer Series is a series of tournaments held across the US over six weeks, culminating in the National Summer Championships in August. You can play just one event or all of them – it’s up to you to use these tournaments in a way that best fits your summer training and competition schedule.

To enter the tournaments, you do need to purchase a Player Membership through the ITA website here. The cost is $35. Then you can enter the tournaments and pay whatever entry fee is required.

The ITA will track points and post updated Points Race Standings weekly on the ITA Summer Points Race Series webpage. At the conclusion of the Summer Points Race Series, the top three men and top three women in the standings will receive automatic entry into the main draw of the ITA National Summer Championships as well as a travel reimbursement of $500 to be used towards the expense of attending the Championships.

This year, the ITA National Summer Championships has reduced draw sizes (32 singles, 16 doubles) and $10,000 in prize money per gender. As in previous years, the singles and doubles champions of the event will receive wild cards into the main draws of the ITA All-American Championships and the singles and doubles finalists will receive wild cards into the qualifying draws. (To receive the wild cards, players must be returning, NCAA DI student-athletes and doubles teams must be from the same school and remain intact.)

In addition to the Summer Series which are open to all levels of player and held on college campuses around the country, ITA is also offering the Summer Masters Series which consists of one men’s and one women’s tournament played over six weekends. Players must be within a certain WTN range (TBD) to register for these events.

Here are the schedules for both series:
