  1. Some things that have worked for me in the past, especially when I was doing a lot of marathon running: Drinking a gallon of water a day, and no sodas. I would start drinking water as soon as I woke up all the way till evening and just refill a 24oz camalbak all day. Five of those and I was at a gallon, drink it all at once and your in the bathroom all day. The camalbaks you can take in airports and fill up at water fountains. Sparkling water to break it up. No Sodas is key a lot of Jr's like their sodas and gatorade. Gatorade should be highly diluted and I think used during or after a match not before. Chick Fila/Mcdonalds/Wendys etc have grilled chicken sandwiches, or grilled chicken with a salad. Always stay away from anything fried and ask for non-fat dressings or none. Breakfast/lunch/dinner should have some lean protein and snacks in between should supplement. Lunch/Dinner should be chicken/fish with veggies. If your in a restaurant make sure they don't cook in oil or ask them not too Its important to eat some protein after a match. I used to make a cottage cheese/peanut butter mix with glutamine...On the road I would back glutamine and protein in a bag to mix in with different things Most Grocery stores, especially the big market district ones or Whole Foods, have a sandwich/salad making section where you can basically make your own lunches or snacks. A much better option then fast food and sometimes cheaper. Should stress having breakfast, never skip breakfast! Besides food I always make sure I have a little neck pillow on flights, eye covers, and with hotels would ask to be away from Highway sides and elevators. Just some little requests can go a long way to making sure you sleep right.
