1. Lisa, if I'm not mistaken the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is one of the recommended tournament hotels. This hotel is just five minutes north of an upscale strip mall (Kierland Commons - http://www.kierlandcommons.com/dining/directory) that is full of good places to eat/drink.

  2. Nice idea. Last year when we went to Winter NATs I was suprised there was no "parent seminars, USTA led discussion/focus groups, MFG presentations etc...." There was basically nothing! One reason we didn't attend Hard Courts and will not leave Florida for Super Nat's. Tournament play is just one part and these events are just not of caliber I expected. BUT you having a meet and greet is a GREAT idea. Should've been done by USTA, but parents (ones that do so little) seem to continue to fill voids.

  3. We are all set! I have reserved a big room at Cactus Moon from 6:30-8:30pm on Saturday, December 27th for any parents and players who care to join us. The address is 1017 North Dobson Road #108, Mesa, AZ 85201. The phone number at Cactus Moon is 480-833-2226. The website is www.cactusmoonmesa.com. The restaurant is about 20 minutes from the Hampton Inn in Scottsdale, one of the tournament hotels listed for the B18s. I'm not sure where it is in relation to the other hotels or sites, but I've been assured it's pretty centrally located. I look forward to seeing y'all there!

  4. Hi Lisa, I live in Phoenix and even though my son is not playing in Winter Nats I felt I should chime in here. Mesa is really not central to anything and actually fairly inconvenient to get to if people are staying near the Princess.

    • Thanks Cindy! Actually, each division is staying at different hotels and playing at different sites. I think the Mesa location may be pretty central. If not, please someone let me know so I can look for something more convenient. :)
