The last time the NCAA Division I Championships were held at UGA in Athens, USTA hosted a college information session with a fantastic panel of college coaches, college players, and others (click here to read my post on that event). This year, UGA is again hosting the Championships, and USTA and USTA Southern are partnering to offer an information session for junior players, parents, and coaches. 1. Parents can also guide their juniors in helping them be realistic about what school, tennis and academic, is an appropriate fit.

I see a lot of good, solid kids with colleges on their TRN page that are beyond a reach.

Unfortunately by listing the wishful choices, they miss out on some college coaches reaching out to them.

So, really great schools that maybe don’t have the big D1 names, but are really fabulous as lower D1 or D2 schools won’t have these kids on the radar list as the coaches think the kids are fixated on the big names.

And that’s how so many high school kids miss the college tennis experience.
